Wonderful House, Wonderful Setting
A group of eight old friends (in both senses of the word!) loved staying here. It is a beautiful, very spacious house and the outlook across lovely parkland was superb. Beds were all very comfortable. There were stunning walks along the river and up through the woods. We visited Vindalanda on Hadrian’s Wall, Carlisle Castle, the Solway Firth, Long Meg, Settle (by rail from the station at Armathwaite) and otherwise, just relaxed in the garden or in the comfy sitting room. The village shop was well stocked and had everything we needed and the pub up the road was good for a meal out. Sue and Gordon were both really responsive and helpful. Altogether a great week and thank you.

Gorgeous place, high standards
I stayed here with friends, what can I say the place is stunning. beautiful manor, stunning grounds & an excellent host. Sue was lovely and very accommodating. We ate Sunday lunch in the Fox and Pheasant, which is practically next door, that was excellent. Would definitely recommend this to others as a must stay

A Country beauty retreat with class
Absolutely loved this place as soon as we walked in .Was here with all the family and everyone one was spoiled for chose in the bedrooms.Great walks all around in cased by amazing views,also a lovely train station were we took off to Carlisle for the day having drinks and food.Overall we will definitely be back and give host Sue a big 10/10 for her service.Thanks again amazing time had 🤩

First Class accommodation
Our recent stay at Armathwaite Manor for the Easter weekend was nothing short of exceptional and truly deserving of a first-class review. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered to create a welcoming and comfortable retreat.
We stayed in Edenside and it was beautifully presented—spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated.
The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, and the living space was ideal for unwinding.
Whether enjoying a morning coffee outside or an evening by the fire, the setting added something special to the entire experience.
What truly elevated our stay, however, was the attention to detail and the hospitality provided by the host Sue. Overall, this was a flawless stay, and we would not hesitate to return or recommend it to others. A perfect getaway that exceeded expectations in every way.

Amazing property for a family gathering
The house, gardens and setting are stunning. I can’t recommend it highly enough- we hired all three properties which worked really well for three different generations.
Sue manages the property brilliantly and the housekeeping is of the highest order.
